Special Report | Secretary General of the International Peace House Institute emphasizes the need to develop a culture of peace Tehran – Special Report In an interview with Dr. Seyed Mohammad Amin Nourbakhsh, Secretary General of the International Peace House Institute of Iran, Ambassador for Global Peace and Country Director of the Organization for the Implementation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in the Islamic Republic of Iran, the necessity of strengthening dialogue, mutual respect and international efforts to achieve lasting peace was emphasized. Referring to the current world situation, Dr. Nourbakhsh stated in this interview that the international community needs diplomacy, dialogue and peaceful solutions to resolve disputes more than ever. He said: “Peace does not only mean the end of war; peace is formed when human dignity, human rights, justice and security for all human beings are respected.” Peace must begin with dialogue Emphasizing the role of dialogue in reducing global tensions, the Secretary General of the International Peace House Institute added: “No dispute should be an excuse for spreading hatred and violence. Nations can live together despite cultural, religious and political differences and reach understanding through dialogue.” He also emphasized the importance of the role of NGOs, elites, academics, youth and peace activists in establishing connections between nations and said that civil society can provide the basis for dialogue and reconciliation in many cases. Human dignity, the axis of global peace Noorbakhsh continued: “If our goal is to build a secure future for future generations, we must place human dignity at the center of all peace-loving efforts. No child, woman or man should be a victim of war and violence.” Referring to the activities of the International Peace House Institute in the field of peace, reconciliation and peaceful resolution of disputes, he emphasized the continuation of efforts to strengthen the culture of peace and establish connections between peace-loving institutions in Iran and other countries. Message to the International Community At the end of the dialogue, the representative of the International Organization for Human Rights in Iran expressed his message as follows: "War is not the future of humanity; peace is the future of humanity. Disputes should be resolved through dialogue, not violence. The future of the world belongs to those who strive for peace, human dignity, and peaceful coexistence." He emphasized that peace is a shared global responsibility and that all peace-loving nations and institutions can play a role in building a safer and more humane world.
